Photos of Chapada Diamantina

Last week I made the journey from Sao Paulo to Chapada Diamantina in Bahia State, Brazil. I had always been told that this is one of Brazil’s top wild destinations and a stunning place for photos. Full of waterfalls, canyons and stunning landscapes. It is about a 2 hours plus flight to Bahia’s capital Salvador from Sao Paulo. From there you can take a 6 hour long coach ride to Lencois in Chapada Diamantina. Alternatively there are infrequent flights approx 50mins- 1hour flight time on Sundays and Thursdays with Azul.

Photos of Bonito, Brazil

I have just returned from wonderful photo trip to Bonito in Brazil. It is located in the state of mato grosso do sul. This area of Brazil, along with the state Matto grosso (which is just above it) is full of wildlife. This is mainly due to the massive amounts of water and wetlands in the pantanal, which drain into the rivers of bonito. Bonito is a wildlife photographers dream, with crystal clear rivers and waterfalls, full of fish, otters, caimans and the dreaded anaconda (In fact Bonito is one of the best places in the world to see the Anaconda). Bonito is also home to an amazing array of colourful birds. From the red macaws to the Toco Toucan to a vast array of hummingbirds.

    Hi Alex,
    I hope you are well.
I’m doing some work with Will Taper at Willmotts a small property firm in Hammersmith.
We will be printing some Christmas cards to send to clients, would you be interested in supplying a winter image?
I saw a photo of yours, a robin in Richmond park with a snowy background, plus we could advertise your book on the back of the card?
    Let me know your thoughts.
    All the best,

    Ed

    Dear Alex
I really admire your photography. In particular I would love to paint/ be inspired towards painting something from your Richmond Park Deer photo.
I’m a semi professional Artist, and the painting may get sold at our art society exhibition.

Would you give me your permission to do this? I will of course attribute my inspiration to you.

I’m not sure how these things work, but wanted to check with you.

    Very Kind Regards
    Hannah Bruce

Hello Alex, My name is Ann Hawkins. I live in the United States. I need to ask your permission to use a variation of one of your photos. I written and environmental children’s book . I wrote the story 16 years ago and have taught myself how to paint mostly by using national geographic photos. One of my book illustrations uses your swan photo as a main theme.

I was hoping to get your permission to keep my painting the way it is. I am self publishing my book so I you do not approve I will remove it from my book. I would be happy to send you a copy of the whole book or just the painting I am referring to.

    Sincerely, Ann Hawkins
