Photos of Chapada Diamantina

Last week I made the journey from Sao Paulo to Chapada Diamantina in Bahia State, Brazil. I had always been told that this is one of Brazil’s top wild destinations and a stunning place for photos. Full of waterfalls, canyons and stunning landscapes. It is about a 2 hours plus flight to Bahia’s capital Salvador from Sao Paulo. From there you can take a 6 hour long coach ride to Lencois in Chapada Diamantina. Alternatively there are infrequent flights approx 50mins- 1hour flight time on Sundays and Thursdays with Azul.

Photos of Bonito, Brazil

I have just returned from wonderful photo trip to Bonito in Brazil. It is located in the state of mato grosso do sul. This area of Brazil, along with the state Matto grosso (which is just above it) is full of wildlife. This is mainly due to the massive amounts of water and wetlands in the pantanal, which drain into the rivers of bonito. Bonito is a wildlife photographers dream, with crystal clear rivers and waterfalls, full of fish, otters, caimans and the dreaded anaconda (In fact Bonito is one of the best places in the world to see the Anaconda). Bonito is also home to an amazing array of colourful birds. From the red macaws to the Toco Toucan to a vast array of hummingbirds.

Photos of Sao Paulo’s Beaches and Mata Atlantica Forest

I have been living in the big, bustling city of Sao Paulo, Brazil for around 9 months now. Only a couple of hours down the road is a stunning paradise though. An escape from the craziness. This is the north coast (Litoral Norte) of Sao Paulo state. This area of Sao Paulo state is a photographers dream. Full of mountains, beaches, jungles and wildlife to photograph.

Photos of Bolivia

I recently have returned from an amazing photography trip to Bolivia. Bolivia is one of the poorest countries in South America, but has in my mind some of the best and diverse landscapes to be seen. From the jungles of Madidi to the surreal lunar landscapes of the Salar de Uyuni. Bolivia really is a photo heaven.

Photos of Fernando de Noronha

I recently visited the stunning island archipelago of 21 islands called Fernando de Noronha to take photos of its stunning beaches and landscapes. Fernando de Noronha is around 354 km offshore from the Brazilian coast in the Atlantic Ocean. Fernando de Noronoha’s rich waters are a very important breeding area for sharks, turtles, tunas and marine mammals. It also has a healthy population of dolphins and has abundant underwater species. For divers and snorkelers this is a paradise. Also for a photographer that would sound enough, but it also boasts absolutely stunning pristine tropical beaches, with amazing volcanic structures, which rise from the ocean floor some 4,000 m in depth. It is also a protected national park and has a restricted number of visitors each day in order to maintain this special environment.

    Dear Alex,
I just found your blog entry about Iguazu and your faboulos photograhps of the falls. We are travelling to Brasil next September and would like to visit the falls. We’ll arrive on the Brazilian side, but definitively would like to visit both sides. Can you give us some guidance about the transfer over the border (where to book, how long it takes, etc.)? We’ll stay for 3 nights at the falls. Is it worth to book a hotel on each side (to optimize for best light for photography) or is it enough to be on the Brazilian side and do a day tour across the border?
Thank you very much for your travel tipps.
    Best regards,
    Michelle

    My new fast website host
I just recently switched my website hosting company from a rather slow 123-reg.co.uk to the brilliant www.siteground.com. I had been very unhappy with the speeds of my site and decided it was time to investigate a better solution. After reading many articles on hosting companys including this article.
