Photos of Ouro Preto

I recently visited the beautiful city of Ouro Preto to take photos. I can confirm that Ouro Preto is one of the most photogenic places i have ever visited. Ouro Preto is a former colonial mining town situated in the Serra do Espinhaço mountains which are in the state of Minas Gerais, Brazil. It was and designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Ouro Preto means black gold, it was the main location of the 18th century gold rush and Brazil’s golden age under Portuguese rule.

Photos of Iguazu Falls – Brazil and Argentina

I have just returned from a wonderful photography trip to one of the seven natural wonders of the world – Iguazu Falls. The falls are shared by the Iguaçu National Park (Brazil) and Iguazú National Park (Argentina) , and have been designated the title of a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The “Iguazu” name comes from Guarani or Tupi words, and means big water. Iguazu Falls resides where the Iguazu River falls over the edge of the Paraná Plateau, some 14miles upstream from the Iguazu’s confluence with the Paraná River. The waterfall system comprises of 275 falls along 1.67 miles of the Iguazu River. Iguazu falls boasts the greatest average annual flow of any waterfall in the world.

Sao Paulo Cityscapes

A few photos from my new home in Brazil – Sao Paulo. I am starting to enjoy living here as i discover new areas and things to do. My recent photo is from a park i visit each day in the heart of the city. But only a stones throw away are views like these over the city. Traffic is a major problem in Sao Paulo, with jams occuring all over the city at anytime. Recently the city has provided a bike hire scheme like London, and a bike lane day through the city on sundays.

    Dear Alex,
I just found your blog entry about Iguazu and your faboulos photograhps of the falls. We are travelling to Brasil next September and would like to visit the falls. We’ll arrive on the Brazilian side, but definitively would like to visit both sides. Can you give us some guidance about the transfer over the border (where to book, how long it takes, etc.)? We’ll stay for 3 nights at the falls. Is it worth to book a hotel on each side (to optimize for best light for photography) or is it enough to be on the Brazilian side and do a day tour across the border?
Thank you very much for your travel tipps.
    Best regards,
    Michelle

    My new fast website host
I just recently switched my website hosting company from a rather slow 123-reg.co.uk to the brilliant www.siteground.com. I had been very unhappy with the speeds of my site and decided it was time to investigate a better solution. After reading many articles on hosting companys including this article.
